OpenGL VS. Direct3D... DING DING DING!!!
Ok so i had a little look into the two leading API's in gaming graphics and found a very useful article. It basically gives you a little background info' and explains why so many people now use Direct3D more widely than OpenGL. It also Unveils some "politics" between the two brands and shows how Microsoft have ruined most of the former OpenGL users faith to support the success of Direct 3D. Look it up Mukkas!

The Prisoner; Portmerion.
Ok, I decided to look into Portmerion as a location so i can relate it to "The Prisoner."
Here is a link to the official website of Portmerion. This will provide you with information on the village as a tourist attraction.

The website also includes some information on the re-make of "The Prisoner," this may be worth a look if you want to delve further into it :)

Applications of 3D
15/09/2010 13:29:-
As we all know, 3D modelling is mainly reknowned for it's use in visual Media, such as the game and the film induistries. This is mainly because of the extensive manipulation of the material in which you create and control. But it doesn't just stop with media, 3D engineering is used in architectural design and engineering as it enables designers to recreate a realistic digital replica of their desired structure to whichever scale they may desire. This can be edited afterwards to correct any flaws that may exist within the structure.
3D Modelling is also used in, product design, interior design, catering, and planning for things such as events an routes. It can also be found in educational formats, such as virtual driving lessons and computerised encyclopedias.
I will be posting more in depth descriptions on these areas of use as individual subjects at a later date.
keep posted ;)

This blog will be used to document my work and my findings throughout the course of the year concerning games design related subjects. This will be very useful to me and others as my documented findings will help me keep track of my work, where as others will also be able to give me feedback as well as extract elements of my notes to benefit their own blogs and researech.
